THE Tullamore and FBD National Livestock Show is ready to roll on Sunday, August 11th, with plenty on offer among the equestrian classes.
The main attraction is the ever-popular Family Pony class sponsored by Joyce’s Saddlery, Mullingar, which is always thronged with family members, especially grandparents watching their precious little ones in action.
Generous funding has been received from Horse Sport Ireland for the non-thoroughbred in hand classes for three-year-old colt or gelding, and three-year-old filly.
The popular Introduction to Working Hunter Performance Class has an additional prize for highest placed four-year-old and breeder. In addition to this there is also the same prize fund in the Novice Working Hunter for the highest placed five-year-old, and in the Open working Hunter for the highest placed six-year-old.
The Show committee has expressed its gratitude to Horse Sport Ireland for helping promote the performance of Irish horses through these classes and acknowledged their loyal local sponsors, especially Glenwood Gold Medal who support the Breeders Challenge for champion mare and foal.
There will be numerous qualifiers for All-Ireland finals and the miniature jumping is always a great crowd pleaser.
There was a surprise horse entry with Tiger Roll in 2022, which was a super attraction and his year there will be a surprise guest of honour, a retired jockey and dancer, to help present prizes at the newly revamped presentation area.
Entries will be accepted on show day, Sunday, August 11th. Please note that all equines have to enter at gate six on arrival.
Tullamore Show promises to be a great family day out with something for everyone so head along early, plan your day and make the most of it.
Tickets are on sale now at www.tullamoreshow.com at early bird prices and there is free entry for children under 12. Important updates and news will be posted on the show’s social media channels.
