ALL roads led to Annaharvey Farm in Tullamore, Co Offaly for the latest dressage show of the Midland and Western region summer season last week.

Danielle Carey was on hand to judge the classes ranging from children trailblazers up to elementary level. Irish-based German trainer Nina Reinbold Molloy was to the fore at Annaharvey scoring a double in the elementary division. Riding David Gray’s six-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare Kingsborough Samira by the Sandro Hit progeny Sandro K out of Kingsborough Flamingo, Nina scored 71.94% to win the Elementary 52 category two class.

Killian Gaffney and his five-year-old gelding Gleneden Justified by the Belgium warmblood sire Dignified van’t Zorgvliet, from the Clinton line, placed second on 68.19%. Reinbold Molloy’s score of 69.03% proved good enough to complete her two-timer by winning the Elementary 56A category two class ahead of Irish international underage rider Maeve Deverell and her mother Aisling’s roan gelding Derravaragh Boy on 67.74%.

Leiden University graduate and emergency medicine registrar trainee at the Midlands Hospital in Tullamore, Marlieze Krielaart, was the winner of the the Novice 27a category one class. Marlieze scored 68.28% with her own five-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare Lucy Cruising for first place. Lucy Cruising is the progeny of the clone of the legendary sport horse sire Cruising, Cruising Arish. She started competing in dressage as a four-year-old in June of last year and has already clocked up 127 Dressage Ireland points at fourteen shows.

Lindsay Newitt’s Financial Reward gelding Ballinglen Dancer was unopposed in both Novice category two classes when ridden by Dörthe French scoring 66.00% in Novice 24a and 64.83% in Novice 27a. Jodie Carter completed a three-timer when winning the Novice 24a category one class with Lady Vaillir Daughter on 69.67%. Jodie and her Flagmount Clover Diamond chestnut mare had earlier won both the Preliminary short arena category one class on a 73.20% total and the Preliminary long arena category one class on 73.46%.

Louise Daly was the sole competitor in the category two equivalent classes with Clonross Rebel Heart, completing on 66% in the short arena class and 65% in the long arena class. Emily Moran was the lone entry in the Junior Trailblazer under sixteen class with Annaharvey Bronte scoring 69.20%. Abigail Banner and Claud were the only combination in the Children Trailblazer under twelve class, completing on a 66.40% total.
