DANIELLE Carey (List 3) judged all eight classes at the low-key Midland and Western Region show held last Sunday at Drumindoo Stud, where doubles were recorded by Co Sligo’s Sinead Timlin and Clifden’s Sadhbh O’Toole.

The former struck at Preliminary level on her home-bred Irish Sport Horse mare Slieveue Ashling, scoring 71% in the six-runner DI4 and 68.75 in the DI15, in which there were five starters. A six-year-old chesnut by Celtic Hero B Z, the winner is out of the Courage II mare Equilock Barbarella.

O’Toole recorded two high scores at Elementary level on her six-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Next Diamond, a bay son of Daily Diamond out of the Kennedy mare Vajda. On 72.50%, the combination saw off two rivals in the DI46 while, on 76.72, they comfortably won the match for honours in the DI50.

At Novice level, Carey’s winners were the home-based Ailise Foy on the family-owned Clew Bay Genesis (64.68%), a seven-year-old bay gelding, in the DI23 and Roisin O’Doherty with the unregistered Clew Bay Queenie (64.14), a 15-year-old bay mare, in the DI26. Leah Treacy was the only starter in the sole Medium class (DI62) with the vastly-experienced, 17-year-old Take It To The Limit gelding, Hartpury Sky Is The Limit (62.26).

Honours were divided in the three-runner Intro A, where Siobhan O’Gara on Stonehavens Buddy and Alannah Heanue with Springlane Firecracker both scored 69.17% and both had collective marks of 49.
