THE fourth leg of the Jumpinaction.net and [Jod -Z] Secondary Schools jumping league got under way on a windy November 24th at Killossery Lodge Stud.
The novice individual was won for an astonishing fourth week by Chloe Dunne and Cuffstown Princess from Mount Sackville, with a winning time of 34.48. This unbeatable round was followed by Alice Manoliu and Miss Ever So Clever representing St Wolstan’s, who climbed up the placings into the second slot in a time of 37.50.
This round was closely followed by Ruby Lynch and Our Molly, back in the placings to take third place in a close time of 38.16. Remaining in the top six riders, was Ciara Wall and Jasper Himself riding for Sacred Heart Secondary School in an exceptionally close time of 38.19 to finish fourth. Aine Mullen, again in the placings, secured the fifth place slot for Enfield Community College in 38.92. Alice Harten with Mandy finished in sixth with a time of 39.69, to complete the morning’s jumping.
The Jumpinaction.net and [Jod-Z] secondary school team class had eight teams competing for the winning spot. Three schools made it through to the jump-off, with a team from St Mac Dara’s and St Wolstan’s successfully taking the first prize this week.
The second spot went to Eureka Secondary School Blue, who have consistently been in the placings. Drogheda Grammar School moved up to take the third-place position, closely followed again by Eureka Secondary School Navy, who finished fourth. Maynooth made the top six again, securing fifth place, followed by a new team from Dunshaughlin Community College, who took the sixth-place spot to finish off an exciting fourth league day.
In the Jumpinaction.net and [Jod-Z] 90/95cm Open Individual Show Jumping class, it was Legends Mate, ridden by Crea Byrne, who moved up to the top spot, in a winning time of 37.27. Riding close on her heels and staying in second position was Ruby Morris and Kilmorgan Star in a time of 39.21.
The third place slot this week went to Sadhbh O’Toole on Toby from Maynooth Education Campus in a time of 43.45. Alice Manoliu took fourth position on Finding Finn in a time of 44.29, while Lily Rogan Mills and Scarlett from St Wolstan’s had another successful competition, slotting into fifth in a time of 45.69. Lastly, Poppy O’Dwyer and Mac representing Dunshaughlin, secured sixth position to remain in the placings again in a time of 45.91.
Double clears
The [Jod-Z] Primary Interschools Novice Individuals had 10 keen riders, who competed in the afternoon, with seven successful double clears. Holly and her pony Lucy representing Rathbeggan National School took the first clear of the Primary Novice competition. Edith Neary, also representing Rathbeggan, secured the second clear round of the afternoon on Izzy Wonderful.
The third clear again went to Chloe Mollaghan and Twiglet, another successful Rathbeggan representative. Jessi Grogan and Molly M took the fourth clear of the class. Their clear was followed by Abbey Cassidy and Magic from Powerscourt National School. Mary Dillon from Headfort with The Right Choice were the sixth clear and the last fault-free round went again to Cian Greene and his pony Magic.
The [Jod-Z] Primary Interschools Open Individual had a number of starters, all competing for the top positions, with Kilcloon National School dominating the leader board and securing all but one spot in the line-up. Taking an impressive first and second place and back in the placings today, was Robyn Lynch, on her ponies Mojo and Good Luck Yankee. Cara O’Connor was also back in the top six, securing both the third and fifth spots with In It to Win It and King. Sadie Lynch and her pony Inchydoney from Headfort were also successful, securing fourth place. Lily Dunne rode into the top positions again, taking home sixth place on Parcglass Golden Venture.
The [Jod-Z] Primary team competition had two out of the five teams through to the jump-off in Sunday’s competition. The winning team, made up from representatives from Kilcloon National School, were first to jump and secured the top spot. Second place was a competitive team from Enfield/Maynooth, who were followed by Headfort, who fought hard to secure third place again. Fourth in the team competition went to St Andrew’s, St Patrick’s, St Mary’s, followed in fifth place by riders from Lismullen/Moynalty/Scoile Mhuire Carlanstown, who also stayed in the top five spots on Sunday.
