THE partnership of Co Tipperary owner Stephanie Moore and Co Kilkenny rider Aoibhainn Ruane won the supreme championship at the recent Kildare North Leinster Area show at Tattersalls Ireland with their overall Intermediate champion, Dynamite Replay.

Unfortunately, there is no recorded pedigree for this 10-year-old home-bred mare on whom Moore finished fifth in the older small hunter class at Dublin last August. Ruane then partnered the bay to stand second in both their 153cm class and the working hunter pony championship to Jessica Murphy and Darcy De Chanteloube

Next week, Moore will partner Dynamite Replay in the older small hunters’ class and in the Intermediate side saddle class, having qualified at the Flavours of Fingal County Show, while, Ruane will ride her in the Intermediate working hunter pony class having qualified at Mullingar.

At Tattersalls, Ruane also won the open working hunter pony championship and the open show hunter pony championship on her mother Helena Hennessy Ruane’s Dartans Atom Man. Another pony with no recorded pedigree, this 11-year-old chesnut gelding, who missed much of last season through injury, has qualified for the 153cm working hunter pony class at Dublin, where he will also line out in the 153cm show hunter pony class. He has also qualified for the Horse of the Year Show.

As she couldn’t ride both Dartans Atom Man and Dynamite Replay in the supreme, Ruane decided to stick with the former and it was Lucy Doyle who was presented with the supreme championship sash on Dynamite Replay. The reserve supreme champion was the show pony champion and winner of the 148cm class, Roseberry Make Believe. This 10-year-old British-bred mare by Chiddock Timelord was ridden for Co Offaly owner Brendan Lawlor by his daughter Kate.

Up from Co Limerick, Enzo Rocca won the mini supreme championship on his mother Tara’s grey gelding Proclin Prince Charming, winner of the mini lead rein class. Here, local rider C.J. Green stood reserve on his mother Jamie’s Woodroyd Go Go Girl.
