Breen cleared to ride

IRISH international show jumper Trevor Breen has been cleared to get back in the saddle following a fall from Highland President in the 1.60m Longines Grand Prix of Hamburg in May. The show jumper was taken to hospital after the accident, put in an induced coma and subsequently underwent surgery for three fractures of the lower neck and back.

Fears Trevor may not ride or walk again were squashed, when it was decided no further surgery was needed. This week, it was announced that, with all of his breaks fully healed, Breen can now start more intense physio with the aim of getting back in the saddle. “Onwards and upwards” was the positive message posted on his Facebook page.
