THE sole qualifier in Area 17 for the Pony Club combined training competition at next month’s Dublin Horse Show was hosted by the Iveagh Branch at their Moyallon grounds last Friday.
Two Area 17 members will join a member from each of the nine areas of the Irish Pony Club for dressage and jumping in the Intermediate (1m) and Members (1.10m) classes at the RDS on Friday and Saturday, August 16th and 17th.
Erin McCrea (East Down) and Jessica Marks (Mid Antrim) will represent Area 17 in the Intermediate competition on Rubane Candy and Centre Fold Belle respectively, while Emma Burns (East Down) and Tilley Tumilty (Iveagh) will do so at Members (Open) level on R Ballerina and Millbar Phynix.
This is a busy month for members of Branches in Northern Ireland. On Monday, the Route Branch is hosting the Area Show Jumping at The Meadows, where all eight classes (from 55cm to 1.10m) will be competitive, but especially the Area Mini Major qualifier for the London International Horse Show at Christmas.
On Sunday next, July 14th, the East Antrim Branch is hosting the Area Eventing at Lusk Equestrian. There is then a bit of a break until Saturday, July 27th, when the Seskinore Branch hosts the Area Dressage at Omagh showgrounds.
