MANY Irish Pony Club Tetrathlon and Minimus enthusiasts have already been competing, without their ponies/horses, in the winter triathlon competitions which, following tomorrow’s North Kilkenny Branch qualifier, have their Carr & Day & Martin-sponsored finals on Bank Holiday Monday, March 18th.

Other upcoming national days of note are the two-day Area 17 Barrier Spring Festival at Castle Irvine, Necarne, to which an open invitation has been extended to IPC members (Saturday and Sunday, March 23rd and 24th), the national dressage day at CoilÓg (Friday, April 5th) and the Mackey Equestrian national hunter trials championship at Hillcrest Equestrian Centre on Saturday, April 27th.

With the online system, members, parents and guardians should take particular note of entry closing dates.

The Co Limerick Branch is running the first of the year’s fun minimus and Tetrathlon days on Sunday, March 31st, at Clonshire and the University of Limerick; the first of the Festival qualifiers, Area 4’s show jumping day, is scheduled for Sunday, April 14th at Barnadown; and the first of the 2024 Connolly’s Red Mills eventing qualifiers will be hosted by the Waterford Branch on Sunday, May 19th, at Ballinamona.
