THIS weekend, Pony Club members are focussing their attention on the Conlans Defender International and National Tetrathlon championships in Co Kildare.

These started last evening with the shooting phase at Punchestown racecourse. Today, the run and ride phases are taking place at the track, with competitors heading to the National Aquatic Centre tomorrow for the swim phase.

While IPC members were awaiting the arrival of the visiting squads, there came news that an invitation had been issued by the China Pony Club for a team of four to attend the 2024 China Pony Club international exchange, which runs from September 28th to October 5th. Invitations have also been extended to the Pony Club movements in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States. Riders, up to 16 years of age, should be of C+ standard and capable of jumping 90cm to 1m. For further details, email office@irishponyclub.ie
