THE Kildare Hunt Pony Club junior mounted games team have kicked off their season with a brace of wins, clinching victories at Charleville on June 28th and the Laois Show on July 6th.

The junior division of the Irish Pony Club games, fiercely contested among 10 teams, saw KHPC demonstrating their resilience and teamwork. Following their triumph in Cork, the team faced a tough challenge in Laois. At half-time, they were in third place, but they rallied impressively to secure a thrilling win.

This year’s team includes Jack Beirne who’s in his first season of playing games, along with two new ponies for Adam (Pony) and Lily Rose (Cookie).

The team is trained by Seamus Beirne and supported by Cliona Twomey and Sinead Weld, who organise all things games for the club. In addition to the Junior Team’s success, the KHPC welcomed a second Junior team and an Under 10s team at Laois. Competitors thoroughly enjoyed their debut, which paves the way for lots of fun and games for the next wave of riders coming up the ranks.

The good start to the season is all the sweeter after the club had their trailer and all their games equipment stolen last year. KHPC Committee and members extend a huge thanks to all who supported their fundraisers to replenish their stolen games trailer and equipment.
