November was a super month for 16-year-old Kian Dore from Limerick, as he won not one, but two, FEI Jumping Ponies’ Trophy legs, the first in Lyon, France, on November 5th, and the second in Stuttgart, Germany, on November 19th.

Kian’s equine partner in these wins was Sparkling Lackaghmore Joey, a 10-year-old grey gelding owned by Edel Dore.

The pair’s clear jump-off round in the 1.35m Grand Prix in Lyon was over three seconds ahead of the next best rider; they followed this up in Stuttgart by jumping clear in the jump-off, more than two seconds ahead of the second-placed combination.

These two wins have put Dore at the top of the FEI Jumping Ponies’ Trophy league table on 40 points. Just two legs remain, the next one being in Salzburg, Austria, from December 7th-10th, followed by the final at Mechelen, Belgium, from December 26th-30th.

Dore has also had recent success with another of his ponies, HHS Mustang Sally, in Lichtenvoorde, The Netherlands.
