KEVIN Healy, who recently got his amateur jockey licence, had a memorable weekend in the show ring. The versatile 16-year-old notched up working hunter wins at Mullingar and Athlone on Kilbunny Kabana, bred by Richie O’Hara.

“Kevin’s grandad, Pat Whyte, bought him in Cavan with Kevin in May last year. Pat has hunted ‘Bunny’ with the Longford Harriers and in fact, Pat thinks the double drains and banks in the beautiful Longford countryside made him courageous and brave,” said Evelyn, Kevin’s mother. “He’s a lovely, quiet horse and we’ve had lots of luck with him. Kevin and “Bunny” won the IPC Junior Hunter Trial Championships and they finished on his dressage score to win the IPC Junior Eventing Championship in Tattersalls last year.”
