MURPHY is the most popular surname in Ireland and amongst the Irish abroad, but it was still unusual for The Irish Field correspondent Susan Finnerty to find a four-legged Murphy in Key West, Florida, while on a visit there last week. Taking a break from Thanksgiving festivities with family and soaking up the enviable sun, Susan met the Key West Police Mounted Patrol unit, who numbers Murphy, the grey on the left, amongst its horses. He was spotted out on the streets with Officer Santiago Perez, accompanied by Officer Michael Wolf and Mila.
