AMATEUR show jumping riders Beverley O’Keeffe and Michael Floody were blessed with glorious sunshine as they tied the knot at the spectacular Rathsallagh House last Sunday. The day kicked off at the Co Wicklow venue with Beverley being joined in the resident beauty room by her mother Celine, sisters Avena and Erica and close friends Anne O’Connor, and Niamh Whitcombe, who flew in from Australia especially for the big day. Michael, meanwhile, relaxed over a game of pool downstairs with his daughter Christine, son Arón and other family members.

Beverley was escorted to The Granary by her proud brother Michael and walked up the isle for the ceremony conducted by Celebrant Mary O’Mahony. Over 80 family members and friends were in attendance. Mary recalled how the couple’s mutual love for horses brought them together and both continue to compete on a regular basis.

The wedding indeed topped off a busy weekend of celebrations as just 24 hours earlier the groom qualified for the forthcoming Dublin Horse Show with a triple clear (one of only eight on the day) at the Northern qualifier in Kernans on board the 11-year-old gelding Indella.

After a wonderful meal, the wedding party danced into the early hours of Monday morning courtesy of the hugely popular four-piece band Johnnie Be Goode. The happy couple then took a few days off this week to enjoy the sights of Kerry.
