WHAT do you do after a whirlwind 72 hours of landing a new job on Friday and Clarecastle Show on Sunday, but go see an icon in concert? Congratulations to Simon Clancy on his new appointment as a full-time associate teacher in the University of Limerick’s School of Education.

A secondary school teacher for nine years, Simon was then on commentary duties at Clarecastle with Susan Finnerty for the big Banner Broodmare championship. The banter included many topics, from the Olympics to his upcoming trip to Germany to see Adele in concert.

“We’re going to night six of her 10-night residency in Munich and, of course, we’ll be sampling some of Munich’s famous offerings, even if we are a little early for Oktoberfest!” Simon said.

A fan of the Mayo TD Michael Ring, who performed the show’s official opening, Simon was called away to tend to a foal at home, but both Horse Sport Ireland’s Michael Blake and Conor Sheridan were on hand as more guests on ‘Clarecastle FM’.
