TYRONE’S Niamh McEvoy had a super Saturday, when she partnered the 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare BP Swifty (by Amaretto D’Arco out of Garryndruig Akademi), bred by Geri McGeoghegan, to win the two-star $65,000 1.45m Grand Prix at the Terranova Winter Series at Myakka City, Florida. The pair jumped double clear in a jump-off time of 35.40 seconds to secure the winner’s prize of $21.450. Mia Bagnato (USA) on Cordiamo was a close second in 35.56, with Charlotte Jacobs (USA) on Korbach Van De Renger completing the podium (36.26). Paul O’Shea took fourth place with Primo CBI Cornet in a time of 36.66.

Irish riders were certainly on form, as Dylan Daly rode Kannador to win the seven-year-old Jumper Final on Friday.
