THE second leg of the Jumpinaction.net secondary schools jumping league got underway at Killossery Lodge Stud on a cold sunny Sunday morning on October 15th, with the novice individual class running first.

It was Lilly Sullivan, who rode CDS Curheen Freddie over the line in a time of 39.24 to take home the winner’s rug on the day. Taking second place was Emma Smyth with Windy Hill, who crossed the line in 39.80. Lily Rogan Mills from Our Lady’s Terenure took the third place rosette. Ursuline School Thurles student Amabel Townshend took fourth. Maynooth went home with fifth place, when Doireann Freeney rode Lumville over the line in 42.21 and the final place went to Ciara Wall from Our Lady’s College Greenhills.

The Jumpinaction.net secondary school team competition had 13 teams jumping for the prizes. Just one team jumped clear this week, which was Mac Dara’s CC/St Wolstan’s, allowing them to take home the winners’ rugs on the day. Loreto Balbriggan finished up with just one time fault, which was good enough for second place. Eureka Secondary School took third place, while Mount Sackville Red Team had to settle for fourth spot. Ashbourne Community School took fifth and O’Carolan College took sixth place.

In the 90/95cm Championship it was Dora, ridden by Ruairi O’Neill, who flew over the line in a time of 36.54 to take home the winner’s rug. Closest to him in a time of 41.99 was Colleen Klinowska with Ardmount Nazca taking second place. Harry Leonard from Dunshaughlin Community College finished in third place, while Grace Rooney with Riverstown Robuck took fourth. Freya Dempsey of Woodbrook College Bray slotted into fifth. The last place went to Zara Cogan with Shady Glen.

The Breakaway Campers’ Primary schools novice individual class was held in the indoor this week.

There were 14 who divided the medals: Headfort School had Maxi Morrissey with Horace, Cecily Guinness von Maltzan with Halston Marabou and Evabelle Coldrick with Pepsi; Kilcloon NS had Sadie Connolly riding Farmleigh Boy; Gaelscoil Chnoc Liamhna had Laura Lawlor riding Bloom; Enfield had Eva Carroll Browne with Wendy, Kaela Leamy with Camel and Aine Mullan with Dunny; Boyerstown had Ben Baker riding Buddy Two Shoes; Rathbeggan had Cian Green riding his two ponies, Tommy and Queenie; St Patrick’s NS Trim had Polly Geraghty riding Bibi; Mulhussey NS had Cian M Carthy with Buddy Two Shoes; and Castlebridge had Nadia Banaszak riding Clamper.

The Breakaway Campers’ Open individual had 46 starters. The winner with Archie was Kilcloon pupil Chloe Dunne. Rebecca Lawlor from Gaelscoil Chnoc Liamhna took second place, while Alice Hartford rode Cuba into third. Taking fourth slot was Michael Dunne with Parcglass Golden Venture, while Oscar Buckley with Abbeylands Supreme took fifth place. It was St Mary’s Donnybrook pupil Layla Nakagawa who took sixth place.

The Breakaway Campers’ Primary team competition had three teams through to the jump-off.

This week it was Kilcloon NS Michael Dunne and Chloe Dunne, who crossed the finish line with the fastest combined time to take home the rugs. Second place went to Lismullen NS/St Patrick’s/St Mary’s and the third spot went to Headfort School. Gaelscoil Chnoc Liamhna took fourth place and Enfield/Maynooth finished fifth.
