ABBY Morton was another rider who made her presence felt at the Northern Indoor Championships at Eglinton, taking both the 1.30m two-phase on Friday and the 1.30m jump-off class on Saturday aboard her mother Joanne’s mare Blueoak Legaland (Diamant de Semilly x Clinton), bred by Joe Reilly.

Friday’s two-phase saw 18 go to post. Morton was fastest, double clear in 27.22 for the win.

Katie Nallon and CW Luiboutain were second in 27.63, while Nallon also took third with her other mount, Claire’s Delight 29.38. Fourth went to Jonathan Smyth on Noletta Smyth and Roy Craig’s Mulvin Lights Out (Kroongraaf x Diamond Serpent).

Nallon and Carramore Sibon were fifth, while Alison Irwin and Robin Bingham’s Drumiller Detroit (Plot Blue x Cruising), bred by Paul Dillon, took sixth.

Saturday’s 1.30m was sponsored by Cavan Equestrian Centre. First place went to Morton and Blueoak Legaland in a time of 41.93.

Shane McCloskey and Grainne Hardy’s Ballyshan Tolux (Tolan R x Lux Z) finished in second place in 47.82.

Alison Irwin and Drumiller Detroit took third, while Ben Walsh riding Nizabalia SMH were fourth. Walsh also slotted into fifth with Adastra Milo.

Katie Scott and Elizabeth Hermans’ Loughehoe Rebel (Ricardo Z x Loughehoe Guy) took sixth.
