SUNDAY was quite the day for Luisa, bred by the late Noel Cawley and owned by his daughter Lisa, who won the six-year-old DAFM Studbook Show jumping Series final at Tattersalls, as well as taking the series title and the five and six-year-old young rider prize for rider, Leah Stack.

By Luidam, out of Lexi Lady by Flexible, Luisa earned her series winning score from points won at the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds in Barnadown, Maryville and Balmoral, as well as a maximum score in Tattersalls.

Of the 24 starters in the final round, just 10 stayed fault-free in round one to battle it out against the clock over the 1.25m track.

Stack was best of these, guiding Luisa to a second clear round in a fast time of 41.22 seconds for the win.

Gemma Phelan came closest to catching the leader, when she partnered another mare by Luidam, Rory Costigan’s home-bred GRC Mercedes (Luidam x Chacco Blue) to take second place in 41.74.

Third went to Ballypatrick rider Harry Wood aboard GBBS Int Ltd-owned and bred BP Dancing Light (Cinsey x Ars Vivendi). They broke the finish beams in 42.53.

Gemma Phelan and her second mount for owner/breeder Rory Costigan, GRC Casper (Sandokan 290 x Luidam), slotted into fourth in 44 seconds exactly.

Charlotte Gibson’s Lady Catoki (Catoki x Ars Vivendi), with daughter Lucy in the saddle, were fifth in 44.34, while the Belgian-bred Milla Van De Kapel (Mithras De Roger x Franco), ridden and owned by Michelle Kenny, took sixth.
