HOLLYPARK stables played host to a round of the SJI Summer Series on Sunday. In the 1.30m division, 64 combinations went to post and taking the win was Sven Hadley and Uidam, when he lodged the winning round of clear in 28.73.

Uidam, owned by Hadley Sport Horses, is a 15-year-old Luidam mare out of Cavalier Royale dam Miss Mac Car, bred by Padraig Howley. Taking the runner-up spot was Mark Cleary and Primo Aliboo Blue ABF (owned by Michael Hayden) when he came home clear in 29.58. Slotting into third place was Abigail Boland and the Hurricane (owned by Mary Boland), clear in 29.62.

Taking the win in the 1.20m section was Alan O’Regan and La-Joya when they answered all the questions in a time of 28.45. La-Joya is a 2016 mare by Eldorado Van De Zeshoek out of Salida V and is owned by Alan O’ Regan. Sven Hadley was back in the ribbons taking second place in this class with Royal Emerald QC (owned by Euro Horse Axel Verloy), clear in 29.62 ahead of Leah Stack and BP Wonder (owned byGBBS Int Ltd), who were clear in 30.99.

Leading the victory lap in the 1.10m section was Orla Dixon and her own Prada Royale, clear in 33.50. Dixon was chased home by Eric Mellerick and the Comeback Kid (owned by Lucy Mellerick) after they delivered a clear in 34.79. Junior rider Chole Roche and Shannon Riot (owned by Bernie Roche) took third, when clear in 36.10.

Junior rider Ciara Quinn took the honours in the 1m, when she partnered CES Lady Chip to a clear in 33.33. CES Lady Chip a 12-year-old mare by Chippison out of Clarequest Lady (Brilliant Lad). Less than a second separated the next placing as amateur rider (A) Edward Enright and Quickstep Commander (owned by Loretta Enright) kept all the poles in place in a time of 34.20. Third place went to European eventing team rider Felicity Ward and her own Mushereib, who went clear in 36.50 seconds.

Orla Dixon recorded another win in the 90cm section, when she piloted Therese Dixon’s Ravens Korod’or Labelle (by Koro D’Or out of Kellys Lady) to a clear in 33.74. Taking the runner-up spot was sportsmember Richie Hayes and Calypso Darco Diamond (owned by Rachael Cushen), clear in 33.95, ahead of Amanda Fahey and Lackyle Skylancer, clear in 35.58.
