IRELAND’s Bertram Allen has been ruled out of the show jumping competition at the Paris Olympic Games due to an injury to Pacino Amiro.

The pair were selected as the alternate for the team. Their replacement is due to be announced tomorrow (Wednesday).

Bertram said: “I’m saddened to share that Buddy (Pacino Amiro) has a minor injury and won’t be able to compete in the Paris Olympics. I was so looking forward to our second Olympics together, but Buddy’s recovery is our top priority. I wish the entire Irish team great success in Paris. They’re stronger than ever and ready to achieve amazing things.”

The show jumping is due to kick off next Thursday, August 1st in Versailles.
