Winter webinar to assist with riders’ position
EVENTING Ireland’s Winter webinar series will continue on Wednesday, February 12th at 7.30pm with a webinar focusing on rider biomechanics with Karen Kelly. This webinar is eligible for HSI CPD points.
Karen is the founder of Rider Align, which evolved from her own personal riding journey and a quest to know how to improve herself for her horse. This led to her qualifying as an equipilates biomechanics trainer, in the Franklin Method for equestrians, with Centre 10 Advanced Equestrian Psychology and she is Testt certified for rider symmetry assessment. The latest addition to the stable has been a mobile equisimulator.
Karen now delivers workshops and classes to all levels of rider to help them improve the rider position and performance, which ultimately benefits the horse’s performance.
This webinar will give you an insight into how you can improve your riding position, both on and off horse in a simple straightforward way. To sign up for this webinar, visit eventingireland.com/rideralign
Dressage rider dies in diving accident
AUSTRIAN international Grand Prix rider Amanda Hartung has tragically passed away after a diving accident in the Maldives. She was 44 years old. The Austrian Equestrian Federation (OEPS) announced the tragic news.
“The Austrian Equestrian Federation mourns the loss of Amanda Hartung, who died far too early in a tragic diving accident at the age of 44. With her, Austrian equestrian sport has lost not only an outstanding dressage rider, but also a passionate trainer, mentor and valued personality in the equestrian scene.”
With a degree in business administration and as a teacher of mathematics and biology, Hartung finally decided to turn her hobby into a profession and, since 2013, she has been working as a riding instructor and trainer and has influenced numerous riders with her knowledge and commitment, as well as having great successes with her own competitive riding.
