HORSE Sport Ireland (HSI) have confirmed to The Irish Field that an appeal has been lodged following the announcement of the nominated entries for the Paris Olympic Games on Monday.

HSI would not confirm a discipline or athlete, but it is understood a decision will be made this week. The deadline for the National Federations to submit Certificates of Capability to the FEI is June 25th, while Monday, July 8th is the deadline for Definite Entries.

A spokesperson said: “Horse Sport Ireland can confirm that an appeal has been received regarding the nominations of its selections to the Olympic Federation of Ireland, published on Monday, June 10th, to represent Team Ireland at the Paris Olympic Games.

“As the appeal process is ongoing, HSI is not in a position to comment any further.”
