LILY Tunney from Co Fermanagh is the Gain Equine Nutrition/The Irish Field Star of the Month for June. Tunney, 14, and her pony Fireman were selected for the Irish pony show jumping team to compete at the Future Champions show in Hagen, Germany. The pair jumped clear in the first of the CSIOP Pony classes on day two of the show.

Then in the Pony Nations Cup Lily was the only team member to finish on a zero score; in fact, she was one of only four double clears in the class. The Irish team finished on just two time faults to take the gold medal, with team manager Gary Marshall saying afterwards: “Lily Tunney was fantastic, delivering two foot-perfect rounds.”

Lily wasn’t finished yet though. She and Fireman went on to win the CSIOP 1.30m Grand Prix for the second year, finishing 1.75 seconds ahead of their nearest rival. Super work, Lily!
