THREE Irish-trained colts with strong credentials from three different stables are set to run in next Saturday’s Betfred 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

John and Thady Gosden have the clear market-leader for the first European classic of the season in the shape of Field Of Gold (2/1), so impressive in the Craven Stakes over the Guineas course and distance on April 16th.

But taking on that Juddmonte-owned son of Kingman will be the Aidan O’Brien-trained Twain (5/1), Joseph O’Brien’s Scorthy Champ (8/1) and the Jessica Harrington-trained Green Impact (14/1).

Both Twain and Scorthy Champ are Group 1 winners, while Green Impact is a Group 2 winner.

Godolphin is also well represented through Shadow Of Light (7/1) and Ruling Court (10/1). Shadow Of Light completed the Middle Park-Dewhurst Stakes double last season. Ruling Court, a $2.3 million breeze-up purchase, won a listed race in Meydan by six lengths on March 1st.

1000 Guineas

Next Sunday’s Betfred 1000 Guineas looks to centre around three fillies owned by Godolphin, Coolmore and Juddmonte.

Godolphin’s Desert Flower (1/1) won the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile over the Guineas course and distance by over five lengths last season.

Coolmore’s Lake Victoria (7/2) completed a unique Group 1 treble over three different distances in the Cheveley Park Stakes, Moyglare Stud Stakes and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ Turf.

Trained by Ger Lyons, Red Letter (5/1) only finished fourth in the Moyglare Stud Stakes but remains highly regarded.
