A homecoming for Unibet Champion Hurdle heroine Honeysuckle and Boddles Cheltenham Gold Cup victor A Plus Tard, was held at Henry de Bromhead’s stables at Knockeen, Co Waterford
Accounting for one in every three runners in these races at the Cheltenham Festival, no fewer than 32 former pointers finished in the first three, including three Grade 1 successes
A Plus Tard was just different class to his Gold Cup rivals this time around and rare indeed is the winner of this race that can find such a stunning level of acceleration on the run-in
"It’s always quite a turbulent week, quite up and down, but to come back with three winners is brilliant. For two of those to be the Champion Hurdle and Gold Cup again is unreal." Henry de Bromhead
Brilliant, brave, determined and utterly indomitable - the superlatives could run on and on and deservedly so as Honeysuckle once again carried all before her.
If the Punchestown head-to-head is realised, although the Cheltenham data reads favourably for Constitution Hill , the unbeaten mare clocked her best time-figure at Punchestown last year
