FIVE yearlings this week brought seven-figures prices, and two of these were sired by Gilltown Stud’s Sea The Stars. The sale-topping filly was joined in that group by Watership Down Stud’s son of the Group 3 Musidora Stakes winner So Mi Dar, a daughter of Dubawi, and he sold for 1,200,000gns. He was the best-priced colt of the week.

The Sea The Stars colt was bought by Charlie Gordon-Watson on behalf of Bill Farish’s Woodford Racing, the purchase being the result of a last-minute phone call from the US. Lady Lloyd-Webber was at Park Paddocks to see her homebred colt sell, and husband Andrew arrived just in time to catch the sale. “I got here just in time in a taxi, and just walked in at the 600,000gns mark,” he laughed.
