1.20 All Aboard The Manguard Plus Bus To The Curragh Races Irish EBF Fillies Maiden 5f

Meditate is put forward to make a winning debut. She is a daughter of No Nay Never out of a winning Dalakhani mare from a strong French family that has done well over a variety of trips. Drunk In Love was beaten four lengths into fourth in a Dundalk maiden last week but she compromised her chances early on through greenness and shaped better than the final result. She could be dangerous as a result of that initial outing.

Slick Chick comes from a yard whose juveniles are going well and she is a half-sister to a two-year-old winner by a sire, Belardo, whose first crop of juveniles did well.

SELECTION: MEDITATE

Quite a substantial field go to post for the first two-year-old maiden of the season over six furlongs and Forceful Speed is put forward to make his experience count.

He did everything right in the opening maiden of the season before losing out by a head to Ocean Quest.

There is nothing to suggest that he won’t be as effective over this distance and his previous experience earns him the vote over Little Big Bear who is a son of No Nay Never from the family of the great All Along.

Tough Talk looks very interesting as a Kingman colt out of a useful Galileo mare who has bred a couple of winners, while Panic Alarm, a colt by Kuroshio, is related to some decent middle distance types.

SELECTION: FORCEFUL SPEED

2.30 Alkumait Standing At Castlefield Stud With A €100,000 Bonus Irish EBF Maiden 6f

Susies Sapphire is a hopeful choice to build on an encouraging debut last October. On that occasion she contested a big field maiden over seven furlongs at this track and didn’t run at all badly to finish sixth to Dissociate. A drop back in trip should not be a problem for her and she can deal with the four-year-old Gobi Star.

The latter shaped up nicely on his debut at Navan recently when he chased home New York City. He was beaten seven lengths that day but there was still plenty to like about his effort and he can be expected to come on plenty for that run.

El Magnifique should win a maiden on the form of his three placed runs last term.

SELECTION: SUSIES SAPPHIRE

Georgeville can bag a first success at pattern level. He ran some decent races in defeat last term, notably when showing up well in one-mile Group 2 and Group 3 events at Leopardstown, before signing off with a comfortable success in the Listed Trigo Stakes over this trip last October. He could well progress further at this distance and he can deal with Lafayette whose season began with a listed triumph over this distance at Naas a fortnight ago.

High Definition’s initial three-year-old outing, which yielded a fine third in the Dante, would make him a formidable opponent, but he has questions to answer after some underwhelming efforts.

Helvic Dream hasn’t run for almost a year and might be best watched under a Group 1 penalty

SELECTION: GEORGEVILLE

Next best: Lafayette

3.40 Hollywoodbets Gladness Stakes (Group 3) 7f

Belle Image has just a six-furlong maiden win at this track to her name but she is a classy sort with the capability to make an impact at pattern level. In both the Irish 1000 Guineas and a Group 1 event in France last year she was beaten less than two lengths and this trip may be her optimum. Her yard has made a bright start to the season and she might be able to deal with the three-year-old Markaz Paname who lines up off a taking success in the Madrid Handicap a fortnight ago. He should be quite at home in this company.

SELECTION: BELLE IMAGE

His form over straight tracks makes for impressive reading and Hightimeyouwon is put forward to get his season off to a winning start. He landed a seven-furlong premier handicap at Cork just under a year ago and showed up well in several subsequent runs as evidenced by a second in the Scurry Handicap here last July and a third in the Bold Lad Handicap on Irish Champions Weekend. There is more to come from him.

Stag Night is interesting but he lacks experience. He defeated the subsequent listed winner Wren’s Breath in a Navan maiden last summer, a race that produced a few subsequent winners, and he might just develop into a force in sprint handicaps.

SELECTION: HIGHTIMEYOUWON

Next best: Stag Night

4.45 TRI Equestrian Irish EBF Maiden 1m 2f

Waterville is a fascinating newcomer. Aidan O’Brien’s charge is the mount of Ryan Moore ahead of two stablemates with the benefit of a previous run and he is a son of Camelot and the incredible producer Holy Moon who has bred three Group 1 winners headed by the brilliant Sea Of Class. On pedigree alone he is a standout.

He could have most to fear from stablemate Cougar who can surely better the form of his midfield finish behind New Energy here last September.

SELECTION: WATERVILLE

Next best: Sea Of Class

5.20 Hollywoodbets Proudly Supporting Irish Racing Handicap (47-65) 6f

A hopeful votes to Amazing Emma. She was a reliable sprint handicapper last season when she probably deserved to win more than just the Navan handicap she landed in July.

A recent comeback at Navan should leave her in good shape for this and she is only 4lbs higher than when last successful while it is encouraging to note that last year’s winner of this race, Brave Display, came from a low draw.

Samrogue has to carry top weight but comes here in fine shape off a productive spell on the Polytrack and she is a reliable type. She too has every chance.
