Unpopular opinion, but fixation on racing being solely a betting product rather than focus on the actual sporting element and qualities to create genuine racing fans is the cancer that is killing the sport.

Stradivarius epitomised professionalism and class on the racecourse. We’ve had him for so many seasons and has always been so consistent. What a training performance and what a horse. Staying talent like that doesn’t come around often. I’ll miss him.
Thank you, Stradivarius

Stradivarius retires. Not many as good, let alone consistent. Just a grand horse.

We can only agree with all the plaudits that are heading the way of Wayne Lordan. What a ride on Waterville in what was a superb race for the Irish Cesarewitch at @curraghrace - #LastToFirst

Not even Holly and Phil could of got to the front more impressively than Waterville did, tremendous stuff.

All the best rides need an element of luck imo. After the start he got, he could have panicked and rushed the horse up, he waited and waited, knew what he had underneath him and picked through every gap like prime Maradona. At the line I felt it was a touch cosy.

Thinking of Hugh Hyland today as he’s laid to rest. A big man in many ways, may he rest in peace.
