5.00 Morris DIY Irish EBF Fillies Maiden 1m 4f

Runner-up at the Galway Festival earlier this month, Riviera Queen can go one better now. The Jessica Harrington-trained filly had struggled in Group 3 company prior to that run but the very fact her shrewd handler deemed her worthy of that run suggests that the daughter of Camelot must be showing plenty at home.

Inspire Hope finished sixth on her sole flat outing to date but has since won a juvenile hurdle. That experience is unlikely to have been lost on the Joseph O’Brien-trained filly.

Having returned to form over hurdles in recent starts, Shecouldbeanything might be capable of making a winning debut on the flat. Second in a Grade 3 Hurdle at Tipperary on her penultimate start, the Gordon Elliott-trained mare ran well when ninth in the Galway Hurdle last time.

Killarney runner-up The Ginger Wizard has been steadily progressing with each start. Joseph O’Brien’s lightly-raced colt could be open to further improvement, especially in first-time cheekpieces.

6.00 Core Bullion Traders Rated Race 1m 4f

Although yet to prove that he has the stamina for such a trip, Dont Do Dramas could be difficult to pass if getting an easy lead.  A three-time winner on turf, the Michael Mulvany-trained gelding is in his element around these tight tracks. In Wesley Joyce, he has one of the best front running riders in the weigh room.

Best Law had looked progressive prior to finishing sixth in a big field at Galway last time. That probably wasn’t a bad run in the circumstances so the Ger Lyons-trained gelding merits consideration.

6.30 Strand Inn Dunmore East Handicap 1m 4f

A beaten favourite on his last two starts, Thefullbackline can reward the patience of those that keep the faith. Having shown promise for his previous trainer on a couple of occasions, the five-year-old has again hinted at better to come since joining Mark Fahey. With plenty in his favour now, the Pearl Secret gelding may finally oblige.

Paper Doll, who was well supported when fourth at Killarney last time, should also be capable of better. The daughter of Australia should be able to build on that promising effort in the coming months.

7.00 Perennial Freight Handicap 1m 4f

Course and distance winner Out On Friday has every chance off the same mark as when successful here last September. Having lost his way somewhat in subsequent starts, the Philip Byrne-trained gelding dropped accordingly in the handicap. However, with a return to form in recent starts, the eight-year-old should prove hard to beat.

Narlita ran better than her finishing position at Galway suggests, as the Harry Rogers-trained filly clearly failed to stay two miles. Now back at a more suitable distance, the mare should travel easily through this race.

7.30 Brennan’s Pharmacy Handicap 2m 80y

Lord Erskine, who didn’t enjoy the clearest of passages when fourth in the Q.R. Handicap at Galway, should appreciate this easier assignment. A consistent gelding under both codes, the Harry Rogers-trained 11-year-old won a Listed handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival. As a previous course and distance winner here, the son of Fast Company holds leading claims.

Busselton had rather lost his way under both codes prior to landing a gamble at Galway. The Joseph O’Brien-trained former Kerry National winner remains well treated on the flat even after being reassessed.

8.00 Dan Cowman Handicap 2m 80y

Second over hurdles here in May, Macinamillion has gone on to win on the flat in the interim. Although raised 6lb for that success, the Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding could be open to further improvement upped in trip. Well backed on a couple of occasions last season, the four-year-old is almost certainly ahead of his mark.

Grann’s Boy has won his maiden hurdle since last racing on the level. Another who has yet to tackle two miles in this discipline, the Harry Rogers-trained gelding may well benefit from such a stamina test.
