NOT many future stallions start off their racing careers in quite as spectacular a way as did Twilight Son, a newcomer at Cheveley Park Stud this spring. Unbeaten as a two-year-old, he continued his winning sequence through to the next year’s Group 1 Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock Park, and when he sustained his first defeat he was second in a field of 20 runners in another Group 1 sprint. Then as a four-year-old he won the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.
