One of last year's top juveniles and winner of the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes, Bucanero Fuerte (2/1) made all the running in the Naas contest and held off the highly talented 5/4 favourite Givemethebeatboys (in receipt of 3lb) by a head.
Bucanero Fuerte is trained by Adrian Murray and was ridden by David Egan, whose services are retained by owners Amo Racing.
Robson Aguiar, assistant to Murray and a key player in the Amo Racing operation, confirmed that the colt is on course for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.
He said: "He’s a nice horse and is going to improve a lot because we were not hard on him and he will get fit from the race.
“He will go over six furlongs at Ascot. He has great speed and he stays well, so that is the plan for him now.”

The card opened with a treble for trainer Aidan O'Brien and jockey Ryan Moore, courtesy of Treasure Isle (8/13 favourite), Aesop's Fables (11/4) and Fairy Godmother (6/5 favourite).
The highlight of those three was the Group 3 success of Fairy Godmother, a two-year-old filly by Night Of Thunder.
