PARA dressage High Performance director Debora Pijpers is bringing an experienced quartet to Herning with all four also lining out in Tokyo last year. “I am excited to go to the World Championships with these four motivated combinations. It has been a good experience for all the riders to be able to compete internationally again. I can see that gaining experience in competing against the top of their fields improves and inspires the riders.”

Qualification for Paris is on the line with the top seven ranked teams (not including the host country) earning a qualifying place.

Rider: Michael Murphy (25), Grade I

Horse: Cleverboy (Vivaldi x Kennedy)

Owner: Michael Murphy, Bronte Watson, Elder Klatzko, Sue Murphy, John Murphy

Form: This pair made their Paralympic debut in Tokyo and have an incredible 11 international wins to their name since May 2021. Tokyo aside, where things did not go their way, they have never been outside the top three in 19 starts. They will be hoping to put in a big score for the team.

Rider: Kate Kerr-Horan (29), Grade III

Horse: Serafina T (Rossgold Sunstar x Lungau)

Owner: Broomfield Farm

Form: Another Paralympian from Tokyo who has shown excellent form during three outings in 2022. She was runner-up three times at Keysoe earlier this month, coming close to her Freestyle personal best when scoring 70.12%. With experience under her belt, Kate will be hoping to get close to that PB again.

Rider: Rosemary Gaffney (64), Grade IV

Horse: Chantal (Christ x Del Piero)

Owner: Mary Barry-Dennehy, Rosemary Gaffney and Sue Smallman

Form: Rosemary made her Paralympic debut in Tokyo and has made three European Championship appearances but never with the 13-year-old Chantal who only began competing internationally this year after plenty of experience on a national level. A brilliant personal best (70.41%) at Keysoe in March saw them finish second.

Rider: Tamsin Addison (49), Grade V

Horse: Fahrenheit (Furst Romancier)

Owner: Tamsin Addison

Form: A former eventer, Tamsin made her para dressage debut in 2013 and got her first championship start at the 2019 European Championships. Aboard the 11-year-old Fahrenheit, she made her Paralympic debut in Tokyo. They have had three international outing so far this year and will be hoping for a personal best in Herning.
