JULY Cup winner Mill Stream will stand at Yeomanstown Stud in Naas next year.
The son of Gleneagles (by Galileo) was among the cream of this year’s crop of sprinters, winning the Group 2 Duke of York Stakes and finishing third in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes before defeating a field of 10 in the July Cup at Newmarket.
Bred by Redpender Stud and a 350,000gns yearling, Mill Stream was trained for Peter Harris by Jane Chapple-Hyam. He won first time out as a juvenile and was placed in Group 3 company, earning a rating of 95.
At three, he was a dual stakes winner, landing listed and Group 3 events at Deauville.
Yeomanstown Stud’s Gay O’Callaghan added: “I was blown away when I went to see Mill Stream. With his physique, strength, action and quality, I knew we had to have him. The July Cup is always the most important Group 1 sprint of the year. It’s the one everybody wants. And he got it in style.”
It has been a memorable year for Yeomanstown, whose flagship stallion Dark Angel was champon sire of Britain and Ireland for 2024.
