HURRICANE Lane, the dual classic winner by Frankel acquired by Coolmore’s National Hunt division, will begin his stallion career at a fee of €6,000 at Grange Stud in Fermoy.
Coolmore published the 2024 fees for 19 of its National Hunt stallions on Wednesday, the sole exception being Walk In The Park whose fee remains private but is understood to be in the region of €20,000.
Only one stallion, Santiago, has had his fee raised for next year, moving from €4,000 to €5,000. The Castlehyde Stud stallion’s first crop of foals were well-received at the sales in recent weeks.
Almost all the other Coolmore NH stallions had their fees trimmed, possibly reflecting tougher market conditions for breeders.
Crystal Ocean, who covered 335 mares this year at The Beeches, goes into his fifth year at stud with his fee unchanged at €8,000. Order Of St George, who recently had his first winner from his first crop who are aged three, stays at €6,500 at Castlehyde.
The dual Group 1 winner Pyledriver will stand his first season at The Beeches at €4,000, while fellow freshman Bolshoi Ballet, a dual Grade 1 winner, has been pitched at €3,000 for his first year at the same stud.
