AN exciting half-brother to Triumph Hurdle winner Pentland Hills heads 64 lots catalogued for next week’s Tattersalls Online August Sale. Bidding starts at noon on Wednesday and closes from noon on Thursday.
The diverse catalogue includes 48 horses in/out of training from both flat and National Hunt disciplines, eight broodmares and eight stores.
Much interest will centre on Seraphic, the three-year-old gelding consigned by French trainer Hugo Merienne. The son of Dubawi is out of the listed placed Galileo mare Elle Galante, making him a half-brother to Pentland Hills and Group 2 Royal Ascot winner Balios.
A maiden after five starts on the flat, Seraphic has run four times over hurdles this year, most recently winning a claimer by 30 lengths at Clairefontaine on July 27th.
Ralph Beckett will offer two lots, headed by by the listed placed three-year-old filly Understated who boasts a current Timeform rating of 95.
By Nathaniel, she was a winner over 10 furlongs in April and subsequently finished second in the listed Height of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood over the same distance.
She is offered alongside Latin Verse, a three-year-old gelding by Postponed who was a winner this season over a mile and a half and is a close relative of Group 1 performers Loving Dream, Brian Boru and Workforce.
William Haggas consigns Desert Voice, a lightly-raced daughter of Invincible Spirit who has won twice from only four starts and is offered with a current Timeform rating of 80.
Recent two-year-old winner Mc Loven comes from trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy, while Ben Brookhouse offers Newton Abbott bumper winner Phantom Gold. The four-year-old gelding is out of dual listed winner Legacy Gold.
Another bumper performer of note is Shark Hanlon’s Fort Randall. The four-year-old son of Valirann would have gone into many notebooks after his eye-catching performance at Stratford when he was placed second to a well-regarded winner.
On the bloodstock side, Altenbach Bloodstock consign listed winning mare Lorelei Rock, in foal to Havana Grey. The four-year-old daughter of Camacho was herself a winner on debut at two.
Juddmonte offers unraced three-year-old filly Warrior Maid. By Sea The Moon, she is out of the Frankel mare Europium and hails from a prolific Juddmonte family laden with blacktype performers.
Three mares are presented with foals at foot including the Castlehyde Stud-consigned Summer Valley with a colt foal by Almanzor and offered in foal to Ghaiyyath.
Amongst the eight stores in the sale, Marie Harding’s Glen Stables presents a draft of three which features a filly by Califet who is out of a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Go Native.
Other consignors include Brian Meehan, Karl Burke, Ed Dunlop, Jessica Harrington, Willie McCreery and Roger Varian.
