AN enormous total of 1,352 lots has been entered for Goffs’ November Sale at Kill in Co Kildare and, even though this is fewer than last year, they will be selling for five days.
Goffs have rearranged their week, so that it starts with three days of foals, then the breeding stock will be offered on the fourth and fifth days, before the auction ends with a final half day of foals.
There is no shortage of well-bred horses in the two catalogues that Goffs have produced, the first containing 982 foals, scheduled to be offered from Monday to Wednesday, November 18th to 20th, and then on the afternoon of Friday, November 22nd. The breeding stock catalogue contains details of 367 broodmares and fillies entered on the Thursday and Friday, November 21st and 22nd. Selling commences at 10am every day.
There will be foals by many top sires such as Acclamation, Dark Angel, Dubawi, Kingman, Kodiac, Lope De Vega, Invincible Spirit, Oasis Dream and Sea The Stars, but there are several other well-known stallions who will have some of their first crop of foals in the sale ring at Kill. These include such exciting newcomers as Group 1 heroes Caravaggio, Churchill, Galileo Gold, Ribchester and Ulysses.
