James Fanshawe-trained five-year-old The Tin Man won the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes over six furlongs at Ascot on Saturday, his second top-level win over the course and distance.

He was bred by Elizabeth Grundy, he is by Group 1 sprint star and Newsells Park Stud stallion Equiano (by Acclamation), and is out of Persario (by Bishop Of Cashel), which makes him a half-brother to the Group 2-winning sprinter Deacon Blues (by Compton Place).

REEL'S BROTHER IDAHO STRIKES AGAIN

Highland Reel notched up his sixth Group 1 success when taking the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Ascot last week, three days before his younger full-brother Idaho (by Galileo) landed the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes.

The latter, a dual classic-placed bay is also trained by Aidan O'Brien. Idaho is a 750,000gns graduate of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

His dam, Hveger (by Danehill), is a full-sister to Australian Group 1 star Elvstroem and a half-sister to Haradasun (by Fusaichi Pegasus), whose Group 1 tally included the 2008 edition of the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Circles Of Gold (by Marscay), the grandam of Idaho and Highland Reel, won the Group 1 AJC Oaks in 1995 and her siblings included National Song (by Vain), grandam of the Group 1 sprint star and successful stallion Starspangledbanner (by Choisir).

Galileo's recent blacktype scorers also include Key To My Heart, the Aidan O'Brien-trained three-year-old who took the Listed Queally Group Naas Irish EBF Naas Oaks Trial over 10 furlongs on Wednesday evening.

She was bred by Triermore Stud, she is out of US Grade 1 scorer A Z Warrior (by Bernardini) – who is a half-sister to Grade 1-placed Grade 2 winner Jojo Warrior (by Pioneerof The Nile) – and she is a 1,300,000gns graduate of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

RISING STAR FOR DEEP IMPACT

Aidan O'Brien-trained juvenile September won the Listed Chesham Stakes over seven furlongs at Ascot on Saturday, giving the great Japanese sire Deep Impact (by Sunday Silence) his latest blacktype winner in Europe.

The filly was bred by Orpendale and Chelston, and she is out of classic heroine Peeping Fawn (by Danehill), who is a half-sister to Group 1 scorer Thewayyouare (by Kingmambo).

Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks star Blush With Pride (by Blushing Groom) is the grandam of September and so this is the famous Group 1 family descending from Best In Show (by Traffic Judge), one that includes standouts such as El Gran Senor (by Northern Dancer), Rags To Riches (by A.P. Indy), Redoute's Choice (by Danehill), and many more.

ANOTHER TALENTED NAYEF SON

Five-year-old gelding Snoano won the Listed Wolferton Handicap over 10 furlongs at Ascot on Saturday. The Tim Easterby-trained bay was bred by Minster Stud and he is a son of Nunnery Stud stallion Nayef (by Gulch).

He is out of White Dress (by Pivotal), who is a half-sister to the Group 1-placed French pattern-winning filly Sparkling Beam (by Nayef), and his grandam is the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes third Pearl Dance (by Nureyev).

That mare is, in turn, a half-sister to Grade 3-placed six-time winner Dixie Splash (by Dixieland Band) and she is the dam of Japanese classic winner and Group 1 Melbourne Cup hero Delta Blues (by Dance In The Dark).

BIG BOOST FOR ASSERTIVE MARE

The Henry Candy-trained mare Spring Fling (by Assertive) gave her future paddocks value a tremendous boost when winning the Listed Scottish Sun / British Stallion Studs EBF Land O'Burns Fillies' Stakes over five furlongs at Ayr on Saturday.

It was only her third win from 18 starts, but she is now a blacktype-winning daughter of Twilight Mistress (by Bin Ajwaad), the mare who has given us Twilight Son and Music Master.

Twilight Son (by Kyllachy) won the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes and Group 1 Sprint Cup, he was runner-up in the Group 1 Qipco British Champions Sprint, and he has been a very popular new addition to the stallion team at Cheveley Park Stud.

Music Master (by Piccolo) stands at Throckmorton Court Stud and his first foals arrived this year. He too was a notable sprinter as he won the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes and finished third in the Group 1 Sprint Cup.

Twilight Mistress won three times, her offspring also include the prolific winners Shaded Edge (by Bold Edge) and The Confessor (by Piccolo), she is a half-sister to the listed-placed Romantic Evening (by Dr Fong), and from the family of Group 3 Queen Mary Stakes scorer On Tiptoes (by Shareef Dancer).

GRADE 1 TREBLE FOR EUROPEAN SIRES

European sires Fast Company (by Danehill Dancer), Rock Of Gibraltar (by Danehill) and Sixties Icon (by Galileo) recorded a Grade 1 treble in South America at the weekend.

Kildangan Stud classic sire Fast Company got his second winner at the highest level when Haras Convento Viego's homebred juvenile Robert Bruce skated home by eight lengths in the Grade 1 Clasico Premio Alberto Vial Infante over a mile at Club Hipico de Santiago, in Chile, on Sunday.

The Patricio Baeza-trained colt is out of Grade 1 Premio Las Oaks heroine Lady Pelusa (by Orpen), and from the family of the St Leger and Irish Derby heroes, and full-brothers, Ribero (by Ribot) and Ribocco.

The previous day, Coolmore Stud's classic sire and prolific Group 1 star Rock Of Gibraltar was represented by two-year-old Gibraltar Point who won the Grade 1 Grande Premio Farwell over a mile on turf at Cidade Jardim, in Brazil.

This is the stallion's 15th individual winner at the highest level, from an overall total of 118 blacktype scorers, a top-level tally that also includes Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Samitar and the late sprint ace but leading 2017 freshman sire Society Rock.

Haras Kigrandi's homebred Gibraltar Point is out of Rarite (by Nugget Point), which makes him a half-brother to the Grade 1-placed Olympic Danz (by Shudanz). His dam is a full-sister to 10-furlong Grade 1 scorer Nugget Filly.

Norman Court Stud's classic star Sixties Icon is the sire of Crazy Icon, four-length winner of the Grade 1 Clasico Premio Estrellas Classic over 10 furlongs at San Isidro, in Argentina.

The three-year-old is out of Crazy Arrow (by Orpen), a half-sister to Grade 2-placed Lady Caroloty (by Southern Halo) and out of Carosessa (by Ringaro), an unraced full-sister to South African Group 1 star Carolera, to Argentine Grade 3 winner Carlo, and to Caracoler, a Group 1 Cape of Good Hope Derby runner-up who was a blacktype winner in Hong Kong.

FRANKEL'S 10TH STAKES WINNER

Banstead Manor Stud's Timeform 147-rated superstar Frankel (by Galileo) notched up the 10th stakes winner from his first crop when Last Kingdom took the Group 3 Prix Daphnis over nine furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte on Wednesday.

The Andre Fabre-trained colt was bred by Michael Baum and Reiko Baum, he is out of Compelling (by Kingmambo), and has now won three of his five starts.

His dam is a winning half-sister to Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes winner and Coolmore sire Requinto (by Dansili), and his grandam ois the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes heroine Damson (by Entrepreneur).

That half-sister to Group 3 Prestige Stakes winner Geminiani (by King Of Kings) comes from a branch of the family of Group 1 scorers Arcano (by Oasis Dream), Gilt Edge Girl (by Monsieur Bond), Tiraaz (by Lear Fan) and Whisky Baron (by Manhattan Rain).

The Ken Condon-trained three-year-old was bred by Peter McCutcheon, she is out of Lost Icon (by Intikhab), who is a half-sister to last year's US juvenile Grade 3 scorer Keep Quiet (by Elusive City), to Group 3-placed Harem Lady (by Teofilo), and to listed race winner Little Treasure (by Night Shift).

Luminosity (by Sillery), the grandam of Elusive Beauty, is out of Bague Bleue (by Last Tycoon), a stakes-winning full-sister to Bigstone, who won the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, Group 1 Sussex Stakes, Group 1 Prix de la Foret, and Group 1 Prix d'Ispahan.
