Dr Sieglinde McGee, pedigree analysis columnist with The Irish Field since April 2000, has been writing about racing and pedigrees since the late 1980s, including for The Sporting Life, Racing Post, Pacemaker, Irish Racing Yearbook, The Irish Times, Irish Blood-Horse, Horse Racing International, The Saddle, EBN, and TDN. A prize-winning graduate of the Irish National Stud’s renowned Thoroughbred Breeding course, she is also a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, and of Dublin City University, with honours degrees in psychology and in literature, a postgraduate diploma in statistics, and a doctorate in psychology for a thesis titled 'Behavioural Reactivity and Ensuing Temperamental Traits in Young Thoroughbred Racehorses (Equus caballus)'. Author of the book 'Key Research and Study Skills in Psychology' (SAGE, 2010), she taught in Trinity College Dublin and for Oscail (Dublin City University), for several years, and has been a guest lecturer at the Irish National Stud and in Maynooth University.
