Roderic O’Connor - Arakans Secret

Lindsay Laroche

She’ll go for the big mile handicap on Tuesday. She’s a smart filly and she’d appreciate soft ground so the more rain that falls, the better.

She was second to Lemista in a listed race at Gowran two starts back and she boosted the form, by winning a group race at the Curragh at the weekend. We rode her wrong the last day at Killarney and we’ll change tactics with her next week. She loves a good ease in the ground and she is in good nick and they tend to go fast early in this, and that will suit her.

Yeats - Lillymile

Flooring Porter Syndicate

He won well the other day at Gowran and there is a good handicap hurdle on Friday that he’ll go for. He is improving away, and they will go a good gallop in that and that’ll suit him. The stiff uphill finish will play to his strengths and he is going the right way.

He will need to step forward again but he is in great shape at the minute and he has deserves a crack at a good pot like this. He has bounced out of Gowran in very good form and I couldn’t be happier with him.

Get Round The Back Syndicate

He won well over two miles at the Curragh and he’ll take his chance in the big amateur handicap (Connacht Hotel QR Handicap) on Monday. He did it well the last day and I think he was value for a bit more than the winning margin as he wasn’t doing a great deal in front.

He is adaptable ground wise and he’s won on heavy and good to firm. Mark O’Hare will ride him, and I think he’ll run a good race. We’ll look and see what’s declared on Saturday morning and the draw will be important too but he’s in very good form and he gets in with a nice weight on his back and he deserves a crack at a race like this – he’s in good nick.

There is another day on the flat in him - whether that will be on Monday or not remains to be seen, but he’ll take his chance.

Jeremy - Detonante

Carpe Vinum Partnership

He won his maiden hurdle well at Bellewstown and he’ll go for a valuable handicap hurdle on Friday. He’s in very good form and he is rated 125 so that should be enough to get him into a race like this. He has won three bumpers and he seems to handle most types of ground.

He has a good bit of experience over hurdles and that win the other day would have done him the power of good.

A R Douglas

She’ll go for a mile and a half handicap in the second half of the week. She was second the last day at Limerick. She’s a nice filly and she hasn’t a lot of racing done so she’s open to a bit more improvement.

Again, we’ll have to see what the race looks like but she has been in good shape since Limerick and she’ll go there and hopefully she’ll give a good account of herself.
