WE are still in shock over the news that Sinead Cassidy has left her role as director of marketing and communications at Galway Races to take a new position with Connacht Rugby.

Sinead has been a key member of the Galway Races team for eight years. During her time in Ballybrit, she played a pivotal role in driving fan engagement and the continued commercial growth of the summer festival.

She was recently named among the Top 50 Women of Influence in Irish Sport by Sport for Business in 2024 and has received multiple awards for marketing excellence and transformative leadership.

Sinead also serves as a Director of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute and McNulty Performance.

Sinead’s new job is general manager of Dexcom Stadium in Galway which includes the soon-to-be completed high performance centre.
