THE Weatherbys ITBA National Hunt Fillies Bonus Scheme recently surpassed the €3 million mark in bonuses paid to owners and, in many cases, owner-breeders.

Developed in 2013, the scheme rewards owners with an additional €5,000 in prize money when their mare wins a mares’ bumper, maiden hurdle or beginners chase. Each filly nominated to the scheme can win up to €15,000 on bonus money, all for just one €200 entry fee.

The scheme is now accepting new entries until September 30th.

ITBA National Hunt committee chairman William Flood said: “The scheme has proven to be a great success for the NH sector and we are very grateful for the continued industry support from Weatherbys, The Irish Field, HRI, HRI Foal Levy and, of course, the breeders and owners that also support the scheme each year.

“This year has seen both Goffs and Tattersalls Ireland join the scheme as sponsors to help secure the future of the scheme.

“We are very pleased with how the scheme has continued to strengthen each year and our National Hunt committee is working tirelessly to improve and further develop the scheme.”

How to enter

NH breeders and owners can make their filly eligible for the scheme by meeting these conditions

  • 3YO+ at time of entry
  • Unraced (under rules) at closing date September 30th, 2023
  • €200 to be paid to the ITBA before the above date
