THE Irish Pony Club’s annual instructors’ training day will take place at the Emerald Equestrian Centre outside Enfield on Sunday, February 9th, when the main topic will be ‘Improving cross-country riding for the coming season’.

Following registration and an information and discussion session on the IPC’s efficiency tests, attendees will be addressed by French international course builder and designer Alain Ponsot who was course builder at the World Equestrian Games at Pratoni, Italy in 2022 and at the Pony Europeans in Le Mans, France the following year.

This session is being kindly sponsored by Tiggy’s Trust and regular readers of these pages will know from last Saturday’s interview conducted by the Irish Horse World editor Judith Faherty and the late Tiggy Hancock’s mother Jane, that Ponsot “has been instrumental in getting multiple useful safety videos on the Tiggy’s Trust YouTube channel”.

Following lunch, the afternoon session will be conducted by accredited course designer and coach Ciaran Glynn of Killossery Lodge Stud who evented at 5* level at Badminton, Burghley and Pau and competed in two European championships.
