HORSE Sport Ireland (HSI) was awarded with a Certificate of Achievement for Innovation from Enterprise Ireland this week.

HSI was a finalist this year in the Innovation Arena at the National Ploughing Championships for its delivery of the new online portal for equine passport registrations, Horse Source, and was presented the certificate on Tuesday evening.

HSI Chief Executive, Denis Duggan, said: “To have Horse Source recognised with this certificate is reward for all of the hard work and dedication put in by everyone involved to bring Horse Source to Ireland’s breeders this summer.

“The Enterprise Ireland Innovation Arena is a fantastic platform for all Irish agri-tech companies to showcase their products at the National Ploughing Championships, which continues to thrive year-on-year and is visited annually by tens of thousands of attendees.”

Congratulating the winners, James Maloney, Innovation Arena Manager, Enterprise Ireland, said: “This year really highlighted how far Irish companies are moving towards digital and sustainable farming solutions.

“The quality of the innovations that were showcased today, by all the companies participating in this year’s Innovation Arena, will give the sector the confidence to compete for international business in the coming years.”
