CONNOLLY’S Red Mills are once again the official feed partner for the Longines Global Champions Tour in Mexico City, Miami Beach and Shanghai.
This, the third year of the sponsorship, sees Connolly’s Red Mills provide a consistent, quality supply of performance horse feed at each of these Longines Global Champions Tour legs. The global availability of Red Mills, including in China, means that horses can stay on the same diet for the duration of the competition, with the support of the onsite Red Mills nutritional team.
For the first time Connolly’s Red Mills included their partner company Foran Equine as the official supplement sponsor, working with the LGCT team to ensure all horses receive premium nutritional care while on tour.
Gareth Connolly, sales and marketing director, at Connolly’s Red Mills and Foran Equine said: “As everyone already knows we are a nutrition company that produces performance horse feed for some of the best horses in the world.
“We have spent the last number of years really getting to know and understand the supplement business.
“This was the first year that we decided to combine the two and bring Foran Equine in under the Red Mills umbrella to support the nutritional needs of the horses on the Global Champions Tour.
“The key factor for us is precision nutrition for the performance horse. The riders, owners and trainers, they know they have a feed that is as fresh as the day that it is made with full traceability and transparency on ingredients right around the globe.”
Nia O’Malley, international sales and nutritional support, added: “These horses are like the top athletes in the world, so their nutritional support is so important.
“They need the best food going into them, so they can recover and perform again at the next event. Nutrition is a key part of their programme and by introducing the Foran Supplement range into the equation it adds additional antioxidants and electrolytes to help refuel them in the evenings ahead of their next event.
“Many of the horses came from Europe to the high altitude in Mexico and then back to sea level in Miami, that movement plays a role in terms of performance, red blood cells and oxidisation. We provide muscle and electrolyte supplements to help with recovery and together with the feed optimise recovery and performance.
“To hear the feedback from the teams on the ground and the riders, who are caring for the horses is really satisfying and to know that the feed and supplements that are produced by our teams at home and sent around the world, play a key role in keeping these horse fit and healthy is what it’s all about.”
Next stop on the Tour will be Shanghai from on April 28th, where once again the Red Mills team will be on the ground supporting the horses and their teams.
