CAVAN’s own Camryn Clarke took the win on home soil in Saturday’s feature class, the 1.35m jump-off, sponsored by Irish Garage Equipment.

Riding his mother Victoria’s gelding Conto De Reve (Hermes De Reve x Conto), bred by Noleen Kieran, Clarke stopped the clock in a time of 24.72 in the two-phase class.

Forty-two of the 62 starters managed to keep a clean sheet over the first phase. Of these, some 22 left all the fences up in the second timed phase.

A dozen combinations had one fence down for four faults, while five had two down and the remaining collected more than eight penalties.

In addition to the win, Clarke also took third place riding his other mount Jordan Coyle’s Dutch-bred seven-year-old gelding Miracle ES (Innocent x Flipper D’Elle), when they recorded a time of 26.65.

Sandwiched between Clarke’s mounts in second place was John Carey’s Luxity (O.B.O.S Quality 004 x Lux Z), bred by John Mulvey and ridden by Lee Carey. They crossed the finish line in 25.75.

Jack Ryan rode Seamus Drea’s homebred DSH Lucky Junior (BBS McGregor x Luidam) into fourth in 26.90.

Fifth went to Patrick Hickey and Ronnoco Jump’s Florie de La Pierre (Vigo Cece x Flipper D’Elle) in 27.11.

Sean Monaghan, with his own seven-year-old Italian-bred gelding, Tiberio Della Caccia, finished in sixth place.
