New OFI President
LOCHLANN Walsh was elected as the latest President of the Olympic Federation of Ireland (OFI) at an Extraordinary General Meeting on Thursday, December 5th. Walsh takes over from Sarah Keane, who has held the position since 2017. Sarah O’Shea was also elected as the Vice-President of the OFI. Newly elected President Lochlann Walsh steps up to the role having been an OFI board member since 2017.
Mina Connon RIP
CONDOLENCES to the family and friends of Mina Connon, who passed away peacefully on December 1st, surrounded by her loving family in the excellent care of the staff of The Residence (TLC) Nursing Home, Maynooth. Mina was pre-deceased by her husband Jimmy and her son Richard, lovingly remembered by her children Catherine, Gerard and Paula, sons-in-law Declan and Christian, daughters-in-law Liz and Yvonne, adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and many good friends.
Mina and Jimmy owned horses in training with the late Francis Flood, while Mina owned a number of her daughter Paula Stammschroer’s top event horses down through the years.
