Sold to Holland

RDS five-year-old champion BP First Editions has been sold to Holland by owners Ronan Rothwell and David Cullen. The Verdi mare out of Ballypatrick Flight (by Laughton’s Flight) was bred by the Brodericks’ Ballypatrick Stables.

Complaints rejected

THE Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has rejected a complaint from the Co Kerry Animal Heaven Animal Rescue (AHAR) and two complaints from Sharon Cooke and Suzanne Gibbons over an RTE investigation aired on the Claire Byrne show in January.

Hunt for Light

THE Premier Harrier Hunt Club’s second annual Hunt for Light will take place on Friday, December 29th, at 7.30 p.m. in the Horse & Hound, Dualla. This year the event will support The South Tipperary Hospice, C-Saw Suicide Awareness and a new therapeutic saddle for local Alan Ryan.The event will be a unique opportunity to see hounds work at night when quarry is most active. All equine and walking enthusiasts are welcome. Riders will need to be experienced with a suitable horse and jumping will not be a requirement. A BBQ will be hosted afterwards at The Horse and Hound pub with some fabulous spot prizes from local tack shops for those taking part. Walkers are asked for a donation of €20 and €50 for riders. Payment can be made on the night or fill a sponsorship card.

STALLION selections for the Irish Sport Horse Studbook and the Irish Draught Horse Studbook will be held by Horse Sport Ireland at Cavan EC on March 13th 2018.
