Khalifa Sat to stand at Lacken Stud
PAUL Rothwell has acquired Epsom Derby runner-up Khalifa Sat to stand at Lacken Stud in Bunclody, Co Wexford.
The son of Free Eagle (by High Chaparral) was a winner at two and a listed race winner at three prior to his career-best at Epsom behind Serpentine.
He is closely related to Group 3 winner Unsung Heroine and his dam is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Posidonas.
Khalifa Sat’s fee has been set at €2,000 with concessions.
Lacken Stud has previously enjoyed great success with Sandmason, sire of Grade 1 winning hurdlers Summerville Boy and Black Op.
Fasincating Rock to Burgage Stud
THE dual Group 1 winner Fascinating Rock will relocate to Burgage Stud in Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow, for 2022. The 10-year-old stallion retired to Ballylinch Stud in 2017 and his best performer to-date is ex-Irish High Peak, a listed race winner in the US. He has had one runner so far over hurdles, Angels Landing, who has been placed on both starts.
Technician to stand in France
THE Irish-bred Group 1 and Group 2 winner Technician (by Mastercraftsman) will stand at Haras de Montaigu in France next year.
Winner of the Prix Royal-Oak, Technician was trained by Martyn Meade who has retained a share in the horse.
Technician is one of 17 top-flight winners for his late sire, who has produced Kingston Hill, The Grey Gatsby, Alpha Centauri and Amazing Maria.
Mastercraftsman has also produced five individual jumps winners, including Grade 1 winner Metier.
