THE bloodstock market will be tested next week when over 500 flat-bred yearlings are offered for sale at the two-day Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale at Kildare Paddocks. Selling starts at 10am on Wednesday (November 1st).

Last year’s catalogue was similar in size and it saw a clearance rate of 77%, with the average price coming in at just under €9,400. One of the top lots was Glamorously (€33,000), winner of the Birdcatcher Nursery at Naas recently. Noel Meade’s Group 3 winner Caught U Looking was a €27,000 purchase here last year.

Ballylinch sell nine and Clare Manning’s Boherguy Stud has a big draft of 19. The small Staffordstown Stud consignment is also worth a second look.

Among the notable sires represented are Australia (three lots), Churchill (six), Camelot (two), Dark Angel (four), Gleneagles (two), Havana Grey (two), Kameko (two), Kodiac (two), Masar (two), Mehmas (three), Sea The Moon (two), Time Test (five) and Sioux Nation (five).
